Wovenplay I have become friends with Katherine, she is the creator of wovenplay, and she is truly amazing! Wovenplay is modern imaginative play clothes in strong, natural and organic fabrics, with rich colors and illustrated prints. The bright colors and intriguing textures are playful and childlike--inspired by costume, arts and crafts, nature, and adventure. The collection succeeds at obscuring the line between clothing and costume-- encouraging children to play and wear pieces in any way they like for free and exciting creative expression. Much of the collection is hand-made or hand-finished in Wovenplay's Manhattan studio with original textiles, printing and trim. Fabrics are dyed in coffee and natural or low-impact dyes. Production is domestic and /or fair trade with highest standards for labor and packaging is recycled and/or biodegradable. Founder and designer, Katherine Shackelford Edmonds has a background in art, textiles and traditional French dressmaking. Katherine makes the kind of costumes you dream about, and she does it with such skill and workmanship you will be totally amazed by her work and your kids will just love the comfort!
