Nonchalantmom Hompage

I am so very proud to have the new Veja Small collection at nonchalantmom! these shoes are something that you can be proud of wearing and putting on your kids! (ok, and yes, I want them too...are you tired of me saying this!!) these shoes are everything you want them to be, organic, fair trade and company with a mission and a question "why don't we try to change the world, even a tiny little bit?" well I want to and I want to be wearing veja sneakers while I do it!

I know that I have been talking a lot about living small, some people like to call it having a smaller imprint, but I like to just call it living small. I think that it's time we try to do things on a small scale, buy from people we know and support and trust, and I think our kids somehow understand this...I was explaining it to my son the other day because he wanted to go to get toys at 'toys are us' and I told him that is not where we buy our toys, we want to support our local toy store (no, its not me!) and buy from them and he totally understood the concept (he is only 6 for gods sake, why can't our world understand this!). he doesn't even ask anymore! I have been very interested in this book 'cradle to cradle' by william mcdonough (I just read his article in this months green issue of vanity fair) and I remember him speaking at Esprit when I worked there in the 1980's, he was so inspiring to me then and now..his view is a very optimistic way of looking at the changes that we need to make that are ahead of us, and I love that, it's up to our kids and they are ready for it! (but we need to be here to plant the seed for them).
