| The twoolies are unique handmade wool animals with artistic personality that come to your living space to stimulate your thoughts and emotions. They were designed by architect Sindy Posso and Mayan artists combining modern and colorful concepts with ancestral native designs. Each of their creations is a reflection of their talent and inspiration. Each twooly is entirely and carefully handmade by skillful Tzotzil weavers using 100% natural wool knitted in manual looms. The Toztzil is an ethnic subgroup of the Maya that live in the highlands of South Mexico. The word “tzotz” means “wool” in their language. Every piece is a unique combination of textures, colors and patterns that make it truly one of a kind. There are simply no two twoolies alike, we have photographed each one so you are choosing a one of a kind product (there is only ONE of each of the pieces photographed, so each as as is in the photograph!) The QUETZAL is stands approx. 9" in height and 8" in length (nose to rear "feathers") then they have a very long tail that is approx. 32" in length. This is an actual bird which lives in Western Mexico (among other tropical places), the word quetzal means 'large brilliant tail feather' - This unique creature plays an important role in Mesoamerican mythologies and is the national bird and also the name of the currency of Guatemala - 100% wool and handmade in Mexico. |
